Mini option contracts represent 10 shares of stock instead of the standard 100 shares per contract. Generally provided for high-priced stocks, mini options allow market participants to trade in smaller blocks.
Mini options debuted in 2013 and carry the same rights and obligations for buyers and sellers, they simply represent smaller amounts of stock for greater flexibility.
